VETERINARIAN
Dr. Lucas Ware, DVM
Dr. Lucas Ware grew up Huck Finn style in the mountains and rivers of Northern Idaho - camping, hiking, hunting, river log riding, and fishing. He graduated from the University of Idaho with his Bachelor of Science Degree in Animal Science and continued to Washington State University College of Veterinary Medicine. He studied large and small animal medicine and graduated in 2010. After two years of mixed animal medicine in Northern Idaho, Dr. Lucas moved to Boise to focus on orthopedic and soft tissue surgery as well as emergency medicine. Ten years in the ER honed Dr. Lucas’s surgery skills and solidified his love of surgery. Starting this practice is a lifelong goal that he is excited to share with his colleagues and community. When Dr. Lucas is not at High Desert, he is likely spending time with his family in the mountains.
VETERINARIAN
Dr. Megan Ware, DVM
Dr. Megan Ware grew up in the mountains and deep trees of Northern Idaho. She spent four cozy years at the University of Idaho studying biology, botany, and art. After many hours working in the Stillinger Herbarium and the Fine Arts Building, she decided to follow her lifelong interest of veterinary medicine. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a minor in Fine Arts and continued into Washington State University College of Veterinary Medicine where she graduated in 2011. Dr. Megan Ware spent 12 years in Emergency and Critical Care medicine before she moved into Urgent Care to allow more time with her family. Dr. Megan Ware’s primary professional interests are Emergency and Critical Care and diagnostic ultrasound. When she is not at High Desert, she is living the mom life, building or making something with her hands, or spending time in the mountains.
CLIENT SERVICE AND INVENTORY MANAGER
Dee Sadler
Dee has had a passion for working in the veterinary field most of her adult life. Dee started her veterinary journey at a veterinary hospital in Arizona. After many years there, she moved to Idaho to open and manage three general practice veterinary hospitals. She eventually settled into a full-time position at a local Treasure Valley emergency hospital as the front desk manager, operations manager, and inventory specialist. There she worked quietly and tirelessly for almost three decades as the glue and the grease that kept the hospital functioning.
When Dee isn’t at work, she enjoys all things outdoors. She spends time hiking with her dogs, fishing, and mostly spending time with her partner riding their horses at the family’s wilderness guest ranch north of Stanley. She also loves spending quality time with her family and grandkids.
VETERINARY TECHNICIAN
Erin Detisch
Erin has been in the veterinary field for over seventeen years, spending most of that time in Emergency and Critical Care in Idaho. In any time spent with Erin, her joy and passion is obvious and infectious. She loves to help people better understand their pet’s behavioral and physical health while providing them the care that they need.
When not at work (or even on her breaks at work), you will find Erin in the sun. During the warmer weather, she spends time at the lake or riding her bike. The rest of the time, she is enjoying a good movie or spending time with her kids and friends.
VETERINARY TECHNICIAN
Teryn Herzberg
Teryn has been rescuing animals - whether they wanted his help or not - from a young age. He started his veterinary career in Emergency Medicine seven years ago and quickly found a passion for surgery and taking care of his teammates. He loves wiry little mutts, bulldogs, and cats.
Outside of veterinary medicine, Teryn is an accomplished professional photographer, collector of things, and father.
